Before being released from prison, the notorious criminal Kore receives a tip from a guard about a fancy jewelry store. Once free, he pays a night visit to his ex-partner Rico, the reason for his imprisonment, and robs him. Pursued by Rico's associates, Core sets off from Marseilles to Paris and on his way rescues the recently escaped bandit Vogel, who has been escorted to his place of imprisonment by Commissioner Mattei. The two criminals become devoted friends and decide to carry out a robbery on Coret's tip-off, but the wily and cunning Commissaire Mattei is not dormant.
