A young girl, Sam, comes to apply for a job at a funeral home that has just held a memorial ceremony for a dead boy. Eccentric mortician Montgomery Darke assures her that every dead person has an interesting story to tell, and he has been collecting them for years. Sam asks him to tell her the scariest ones, Darke picks three - from the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. But the girl doesn't seem to be easily frightened.
