A wave of brutal murders swept through the city, victims are defenseless people. The new victim of the telephone maniac from the town of Woodsboro may become another girl - Sydney Prescott. A year ago, her mother was raped and murdered, and now the maniac is threatening her herself. But in her first nighttime battle with the killer, the girl manages to save herself. The police find a mask and a cloak at the scene of the assassination attempt. However, such masks can be bought in a horror shop, and the evidence is of no use to the investigation.
