A catastrophe worse than nuclear war has befallen our civilization. A terrible energy crisis has paralyzed cities, communication routes - in a word, everything. Fuel is now being fought for by any means necessary. Because where there is gasoline, there is life ... A lonely driver Max is just and furrows the wastelands of distant Australia in search of fuel. Everywhere abandoned dwellings, cars, miscellaneous junk. Finally Max finds a settlement turned into a fortified camp with fuel depots. The gaunt, exhausted people guard what they own as best they can. And now, on top of all the troubles, the camp is attacked by enemies, ferocious punks and bikers led by a certain Gumungus, a sadist and murderer. And then Max enters the fray ...
