While the exhausted British prisoners of war are building a bridge, commander Shears manages to escape. But soon he will be forced to return to blow up this strategically important building. In this military drama, it is difficult to single out one main character, but you can easily determine the main scenery of the film - this is the bridge on the River Kwai, with which all the events and experiences of the heroes are directly connected.
