For centuries, myths and legends have shrouded the picturesque spurs of the Scottish mountains in mystery. Merida, a skillful archer, has to choose her own path in life, and one day she refuses to follow the ancient traditions of the kingdom, challenging the powerful Scottish clans and their leaders: the dim-witted Lord MacGuffin, the sullen Lord Macintosh and the grumpy Lord Dingwall. Merida's careless actions threaten to throw the kingdom into chaos, and then she goes to an eccentric hermit for advice, who instead of helping her casts a dangerous spell on Merida. The young princess must rely only on her own courage to overcome the powerful magic and defeat the most fearsome beast of the mountain valleys.
