By 2017, the favorite entertainment for the people of America becomes a sadistic TV show "Running Man", in which prisoners must pass severe tests and get freedom, or die in front of viewers at the hands of pursuers-hunters. Once among the participants is a policeman Ben Richards, who refused to shoot an unarmed crowd of hungry people. Now, together with his fellow prisoners, he will have to take part in a mad race with death.
